Background and Education:
I am someone who truly loves history, and I always make a point to ensure that my students love it too! When I am not at school, I am often attending professional development related to history and how to best teach it. I also love to attend historic sites and reenactments as well!
In 2012 I was a part of the first graduating class of Saraland High School. I left Saraland and attended the University of South Alabama where I received a bachelor's in Social Science and Secondary Education. In 2020, I re-enrolled at the University of South Alabama and attained my master's degree in Secondary Social Studies Education in 2021. Following the completion of my Master's degree, I enrolled at the University of South Alabama once more and attained my Education Specialist's degree in 2023.

Experience:
I come from a long line of educators, and I like to think that I grew up in the classroom. I knew from the time I was in high school that I wanted to teach one day, and with my passion for history, I knew secondary social studies was my future! Following the completion of my bachelor's degree, I taught for two years at Chickasaw High School. While teaching there I taught 9th, 10th, and 11th grade. Following my time at Chickasaw High School, I began teaching at Satsuma High School. The 2023-2024 school year marks my 6th year teaching at Satsuma. During my time here, I attained my master's degree in 2021 and Education Specialist degree in 2023, both in Secondary Social Studies Education. I am also proud to include that in 2022 I joined the 7.77% of educators in Alabama by becoming by becoming a National Board Certified teacher.
